H.E. MARIAN JOCELYN R. TIROL-IGNACIO
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippinesto Brunei Darussalam

Ambassador Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio is a career diplomat. She passed the Foreign Service Officer Examination in 1995 and entered the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in June 1996.

At the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tirol-Ignacio held various positions, including in the Office of ASEAN Affairs and the Office of the United Nations and Other International Organizations (UNIO). 

Her foreign assignments include Stockholm, Sweden and Tokyo, Japan .

Prior to her assumption as Ambassador of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam, she was the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Executive Director of the Office of ASEAN Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs. 

Ambassador Tirol-Ignacio holds a Bachelor in Interior Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. 

She is a graduate of the 1999-2000 Foreign Service Program at the University of Oxford and earned a Certificate in Diplomatic Studies and Spanish Language.

She is married to His Excellency Josel F. Ignacio, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Republic of India.
