The Philippine Embassy would like to inform the Filipino Community in Brunei Darussalam that in view of the accession of the Philippines to the Apostille Convention, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will be issuing Apostille Certificates for Philippine documents intended to be used abroad, beginning 15 June 2019.

In light of this, the DFA will no longer be issuing Authentication Certificates bearing a Red Ribbon.

Similarly, beginning on Monday 17 June 2019, the Philippine Embassy in Brunei, together with all of Philippine Embassies and Consulates abroad, will no longer include or attach a red ribbon to the documents notarized/legalized by the Embassy (e.g. Special Power of Attorney, Affidavits, Contracts, School Records, and other similar documents).

Henceforth, all documents notarized or legalized by the Embassy will only bear the corresponding certification of acknowledgement, authentication or related documents, with an eyelet and gold seal but without a red ribbon.

For further inquiries, please call the Consular Section at 224-1465 or 224-1266, loc. 105, 107 and 109 or through the Embassy’s hotline at +673 871 4881.
