Filipino Nationals Departing Brunei for the Philippines Are Not Required to Undergo a Swab Test

The Embassy wishes to advise the Filipino community that a swab test for COVID-19 is not required for Filipino citizens who are departing from Brunei Darussalam and directly returning to the Philippines.

The swab testing, and its corresponding payment, is only required for outbound travellers whose countries of destination require COVID-19 testing prior to arrival.

At present, the Philippine Government does not require Filipino nationals to undergo COVID-19 testing at their countries of origin before being allowed entry to the Philippines.

Travelers are strongly encouraged to closely coordinate with their airlines for their flight bookings and latest travel advisories, as well as continuously monitor the latest news and the Embassy’s Facebook Page @PHinBrunei, or the official website of the Philippine Embassy in Brunei at: bruneipe.dfa.gov.ph and other relevant Philippine agencies.
