The Philippine Embassy in Brunei wishes to inform the public of the amended fees for the renewal of the Philippine driver’s license of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs):
License fee – Professional/Non-Professional – Php 350.00
Penalties
Expired for less than one year – Php 75.00
Expired for one year to less than two years – Php 150.00
Expired for two years and more – Php 225.00
Per Land Transportation Office (LTO) Administrative Order No. RIB-2007-011 entitled “Amending Administrative Order No. 88-002 dated 8 November 1988 – Validating the Expired Driver’s License of Overseas Filipino Workers, all Filipino citizens who are holders of an authentic Philippine driver’s license, and who are staying abroad, can validate their already expired driver’s license through a duly authorized representative.
The duly authorized representative shall personally present to the LTO the following documents:
1. Original driver’s license and 1 photocopy;
2. Photocopy of Philippine passport with visa of licensee; and
3. Letter from licensee to the LTO requesting the renewal of the license and authorizing the representative to renew the license on his/her behalf.
The Licensing Office shall collect the fees and issue the owner’s copy of the Driver’s License Receipt (DLR) to the representative.
The Releasing Clerk shall stamp the words “LICENSEE ABROAD FOR PHOTOTAKE WITHIN 30 DAYS UPON ARRIVAL” at the right side of the DLR.
The Licensing Office shall keep on file all documents until such time that the Licensee appears at the LTO office for photograph taking.
The Licensee shall present himself/herself within 30 days upon arrival to the same office where the renewal was made for photograph taking. The Licensee will present the following:
1. Original DLR;
2. Original passport;
3. Valid drug test result;
4. Medical certificate; and
5. Expired driver’s license.
The Licensing Office shall process the documents and after approval, recommend the production of the driver’s license and release same to the licensee.
For applicants within the National Capital Region (NCR), only the license section of the Central Office may accept such renewals since a fast lane is available for processing of licenses of foreigners and OFWs. For applicants outside the NCR, they can renew at any field office.
