The Philippine Embassy is pleased to inform members of the Filipino Community in Brunei Darussalam that UGAT Foundation, Inc. — a non-profit organized based in the Ateneo De Manila University —- has launched UGAT SANDALINE, a multi-ICT on-line Counseling Project designed to provide crisis intervention and counseling for seafarers, Overseas Filipino Workers, and their families.

The project aims to assist the beneficiaries through the following:

1.            On-line counseling and psychosocial intervention using various means of internet and mobile communications in time of crisis and/or great need;

2.            Facilitating a link between Overseas Filipino Workers and their families especially when the families in the Philippines have no means to contact their relatives abroad; and

3.            Forming a strong network of support (volunteers, NGOs, Church and government agencies) for the psycho-social intervention programs and other support services for the beneficiaries.

Seafarers, OFWs and their families can have access to competent and well-trained counselors ready to serve them 24/7 with the use of mobile phones and the internet, in the convenience of their homes and workplaces.
