The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam, on 26 June 2015, already reached its target of 3,000 new Overseas Voting registrants for the period 06 May 2014 to 31 October 2015.
The target was set by COMELEC and the Overseas Voting Secretariat during the Training for the Resumption of Continuing Registration of Overseas Voters held on 9 to 11 April 2014 in Macau SAR.
Mr. Noel A. Salumbides, a 28 year-old steward stationed offshore in Kuala Belait, some 110 kms. away from Bandar Seri Begawan, was awarded a certificate being the Embassy’s 3,000 Overseas Voting registrant.
Amb. Meynardo LB. Montealegre thanked the Embassy’s Overseas Voting team for its achievement, but he encouraged all to do more to encourage eligible OFWs in Brunei to register for Overseas Voting. “Let us make them realize that they have a voice in choosing our next batch of leaders,” the Ambassador added.
