BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 17 DECEMBER 2020 – In line with its public diplomacy initiatives, the Embassy of the Philippines participated in a Photo Exhibition entitled “Brunei Darussalam from the Eyes of Foreign Diplomats and their Families” held on 16 December 2020 at the Royal Regalia Museum.
The exhibition was organized by the Diplomatic Corps in Brunei Darussalam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports and the Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD).
The event was graced by Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Hj Abdul Aziz. Also in attendance were Government Ministers, senior government officials, and members of the academe and the private sector.
The photo exhibition featured 109 photos of landscapes, sceneries, cuisines and cultural events in the Sultanate taken by the members of the Diplomatic Corps and their families. Nineteen (19) out of the twenty-eight (28) resident diplomatic missions in Brunei participated in the exhibit contributing six (6) photos each.
Philippine Ambassador Christopher B. Montero served as member of the 6-member Organizing Committee headed by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman. The other members were the Ambassadors of Turkey, France, Republic of Korea and Australia.
The exhibition will tour the three other districts of Brunei, namely Kuala Belait District (from 29 December 2020 to 7 January 2021, Temburong District (from 9 to 19 January 2021) and Tutong District (23 January to 2 February 2021). END
