13 October 2022, BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam hosted high tea for young Filipino-Bruneian students, entrepreneurs and professionals at the Ambassador’s residence on 13 October 2022.
The attendees were Bruneians with Filipino blood who either manage their own businesses, work as professionals, or are students, mostly in the field of services, entertainment and healthcare.
The high tea provided a platform for participants to share their stories and experiences exploring their Filipino heritage and culture. Ambassador Marian Jocelyn R. Tirol-Ignacio spoke of the richness and diversity of Filipino culture, as well as the Embassy’s advocacies which includes maritime issues, climate change, biodiversity, vulnerable persons, and developing financial literacy and entrepreneurship among the Filipino community. The Ambassador extended an invitation to the group to join the Embassy’s upcoming events and discuss possibilities for future collaboration.
The event is part of the Philippine Embassy’s gender and development (GAD) program for the current year to empower women and the youth through networking and social events. END
