18 April 2023 - The Department of Foreign Affairs mourns the passing of former Secretary Albert F. Del Rosario, while en route to San Francisco.

A staunch advocate of protecting and advancing national security and promoting the rights and welfare of Filipinos both in the Philippines and abroad, he served as Philippine Ambassador to the United States from 2011 to 2006 and was appointed Secretary of Foreign Affairs by President Benigno S. Aquino III in February of 2011 and served until March of 2016.

He is survived by his spouse Mrs. Gretchen V. Del Rosario and his children.
