Philippine Embassy Officials, led by Vice Consul Jaybee B. Arguillas, attended the Induction Ceremony of the Filipino Association (FA) in Brunei Darussalam on 21 April 2019 at the Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong, Bandar Seri Begawan.

In her remarks, Vice Consul Arguillas commended the Filipino Association officers and its member-organizations for displaying the Filipino worker’s high standards of ethical conduct and professional excellence at work, leading to world-class services in the various professional fields. She encouraged the Filipino Community Organizations to continue to be the Embassy’s partner in promoting trade, investment, tourism, and closer people-to-people interaction between Brunei and the Philippines.

Vice Consul Arguillas also urged all the Filipinos in Brunei to exercise their right to vote in the 2019 Philippine National Elections. She announced, “For thirty continuous days until 13 May 2019, we will remain open from 8:30 in the morning till 4:30 in the afternoon so that our Kababayans here in Brunei will be able to exercise their right to vote. This is also one opportunity where you can make a difference in nation-building. Exercise your right to vote and when you do, vote wisely. Think twice, thrice or even up to ten times about those who you will put into office that will lead our country. Through these efforts, we can all contribute towards the goal of a better Philippines not just for ourselves and our children, but also for our great grandchildren and their children.”

The Filipino Association in Brunei Darussalam is an umbrella organization of Filipino Community organizations and was established in 1982. To date, nineteen (19) Filipino Community Organizations are listed as its member-organizations. END
