Bandar Seri Begawan 19 July 2019 – In line with the Philippine Government’s continuing commitment to provide assistance to all Filipino nationals abroad, officials of the Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam led by Ambassador Christopher B. Montero visited Filipino inmates at various prison facilities on 18 July 2019 in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebrations.

Embassy officials brought Filipino dishes for the inmates, and provided them with personal care items for their use inside the prison. They likewise conferred with prison authorities to ensure that the well-being of Filipino inmates is properly attended to.

The Hari Raya prison visits are conducted annually on top of regular prison visits made by Embassy officials to detained Filipino nationals in Brunei. END
