BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 07 August 2020 – Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Christopher B. Montero attended a virtual ceremony as one of the invited guests for the signing of a partnership agreement between Philippine tech company Multisys Technologies Corporation and Brunei’s telecom giant Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST) held at the DST Headquarters on 05 August 2020.
DST CEO Radin Sufri bin Radin Basiuni and Multisys CEO David Almirol, Jr. signed the agreement, with DST Chairman of the Board Haji Sofian bin Haji Mohammad Jani served as witness during the virtual signing ceremony.
The agreement is expected to allow both companies to leverage each other’s strengths in telecommunications technology and software engineering solutions to deliver better access and a more seamless user experience across any environment. As such, the new partnership will contribute to strengthening the core of digital transformation and innovation in Brunei and the Philippines.
“The joint venture between Multisys and DST represents a major milestone in Philippines-Brunei economic relations because it showcases the expertise of a Philippine firm in providing software engineering solutions to Brunei’s telecoms provider,” Ambassador Montero said.
“It likewise demonstrates the commitment among ASEAN’s private sector to continuously support the creation of innovative and smart cities around the region,” the Ambassador added.
Among the other guests who witnessed the virtual signing ceremony were Brunei Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Hajah Johariah binti Haji Abdul Wahab, DST Deputy Chairman of the Board Haji Muhammad Yazid bin Dato Paduka Haji Mahadi, Smart Communications President Al Panlilio, ePLDT President and CEO Jovy Hernandez.
