BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 10 August 2020 – Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Christopher B. Montero joined the flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 53rd Anniversary of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) organized by the Government of Brunei Darussalam on 10 August 2020 at the International Convention Center in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The event was presided by Dayang Emaleen Abd. Rahman Teo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ASEAN SOM Leader of Brunei Darussalam, with the attendance of resident Heads of Mission of ASEAN Embassies and ASEAN Dialogue Partners.
The hoisting of the ASEAN Flag was followed by a simple reception hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Notwithstanding the ongoing pandemic, the commemorative activity demonstrates the firm commitment of ASEAN member states to further advance the goals and objectives of the regional organization since its founding in 1967. END
