Bandar Seri Begawan - Lieutenant Commander Renato Sun was among the 42 Officers who have completed the 12th Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Command and Staff Course (CSC) in a closing ceremony held at the RBAF Defence Academy last 14 October 2022 with Yang Mulia Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, Deputy Minister of Defence as the Guest of Honor.

Her Excellency Ambassador Marian Jocelyn R Tirol-Ignacio attended the auspicious event together with the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché to Brunei Darussalam Colonel Angelo Gerard P Ariles PN(M). Also in attendance at the ceremony were the Commander of the RBAF, Deputy Commissioner of Police Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry of Defence, Service Commanders, Deputy Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry of Defence, representatives from foreign missions in Brunei Darussalam, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of University Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Directors, resident and non-resident Defence Advisors and Attachés to Brunei Darussalam, Commandants, Deputy Director of Internal Security Department, UBD faculty members, as well as senior RBAF officers.

The CSC is a 40-week military career-course conducted in partnership with the University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) which is aimed to broaden officers' perspectives and professional expertise using practical and academic approaches and disciplines to explore the current strategic environment issues and their implications for those in the defence and security related fields. The graduation course participants were awarded the UBD Graduate Diploma in Defence and Security Studies with an opportunity to pursue their Master’s Degree in Defence and Security Studies in UBD.

Lieutenant Commander Renato Sun is a member of the Philippine Navy and is a Naval Aviator. END
